There’s nothing wrong with being broke.

Sure, you may not have enough money to wine and dine that girl you like, but at the end of the day if she likes you then she’ll happily pay to take YOU out.

Women are more attracted to a man’s POTENTIAL than they are to what he actually has. But that’s a topic for another time.

Today, let’s talk about how to be healthy.

You’ll know how to be healthy when you have no money

For most of my fitness journey (read: adult life), I haven’t had so much money. If it’s been 20 years since I started working out, I’ve probably had lots of money for around 5 of them.

Out of those five, I’d say that during only one of them I had money AND was super fit.

While we could get into a whole discussion about money vs health and how focusing on one will indirectly reduce the abundance of the other in your life, that’s not the point I’m trying to make.

It kind of goes without saying though, doesn’t it?

I mean it’s just common sense – you spend more time and energy working, so at the end of the day you’re going to have less gas in the tank to crush that two hour workout.

Sure, there are little tricks you can play on yourself to increase your energy levels DESPITE blasting out that 11 hour workday. But even getting yourself to the gym in the first place is hard.

The point is this: once you are broke, you’ll know how to be healthy.

Why?

Because you’ll have a lot of time and not a lot of money.

That means you’ll hopefully be able to spend more time on your health and less on fattening up your bank account.

Furthermore, learning how to be healthy on a budget is the ULTIMATE way to be healthy: if you can do it while broke, you can do it while rich – right?

When it comes to how to be healthy, there are a few key concepts that you need to understand.

Once you live by those concepts and integrate them into your life, being healthy is a piece of cake – errr, raw meat.

Yes. Yes it is.

Honestly, if you get nothing else from this article, get this: fasting is the answer you’re looking for.

  • Got wrinkles? Fasting will make them go away.
  • Super fat? Fasting will lean you out.
  • Semi fit but not shredded? Fasting will cut you up.
  • Skin issues? Fasting will clear them up.
  • Some other awful gross disease? Fasting will make it go away.

In other words, fasting is the most effective way to improve your health.

Better than doctors, better than an expensive clinic, better than any drug that a doctor can prescribe to you.

Furthermore, fasting is 100% free. In fact, fasting will probably SAVE you money because you’ll be spending less on food.

Whether you reduce your eating frequency to once a day, once every two days, or more, you’ll ultimately have more money in your pocket for food.

And let’s be real: if you’re extremely overweight, that means you’ll stop eating a lot of the unnecessary processed foods that are making you gain so much weight.

Fasting is so amazing for your overall level of health that you can even MAKE MONEY by fasting!

(Granted, you also have to upload YouTube videos for six months straight until you can monetize your channel, but I’ve made almost $30 this month just for talking to a camera for ten minutes a day. That’s a pretty sweet deal in my opinion.)

(I suppose you could put more effort into your videos and grow your channel faster, but ain’t nobody got time fo dat.)

On top of that, there are lots of scientific studies that prove that fasting has ALL KINDS of health benefits.

But look, don’t take my word for it: if you want to know how to be healthy and beautiful, just TRY FASTING.

Don’t start with a 24 hour “fast” because I’m sorry, that’s not a fast. That’s just eating one meal a day.

A TRUE fast is 48 hours or more. That’s where you’ll start to notice the most benefits.

In my experience, I lose 5 lbs that first day of fasting. Sure, a good chunk of that is water. But water is also stored in fat cells.

So when you end up rehydrating, you store LESS water because you’ve destroyed some fat cells as well.

Each time you end up losing more and more weight until you get to the point where you don’t even really need to fast that much anymore to stay super lean.

I publish daily YouTube videos, and one of the most common questions I get is: “I’m trying to learn how to be health and fit. What kinds of foods should I eat?”

It always just comes down to two words: raw meat.

Or maybe three words: eat raw meat.

Or possible eleven words: eat most of your calories in the form of raw meat.

Get it?

Human beings have the natural tendency to overcomplicate things.

After all, the world we’ve created for ourselves over the past few thousand worlds is impossibly complex. So health must ALSO be complex, right?

I mean, if being SUPER healthy and fit just came down to eating raw meat, then wouldn’t everyone do it?

And beyond that, isn’t there evidence that human brains began to develop much faster when we began eating cooked meat?

HOW DO YOU EXPLAIN THAT SMART GUY?

Honestly, I don’t have an explanation for that.

But you know what’s cool? I also don’t need one.

This recommendation of mine isn’t some weird religious thing where I’m saying the Super Space Wizard In The Sky commands us to eat raw meat to make Him happy. It comes from pure 100% human experience.

As a 20 year health nut, I’ve eaten just about every type of food combination on the planet in an attempt to achieve the highest level of possible health.

At the time of this writing, nothing has come CLOSE to the level of amazingness that I feel when eating most of my calories from raw muscle meat.

But just for fun, let’s list the benefits in some nice bullet points:

  • No bloating after a meal
  • Virtually non-existent bowel movements the next day
  • Tons of energy to do gut busting workouts
  • Improved mood
  • Amazing sleep
  • Wake up immediately and without feeling groggy
  • Cheap AF

That last one is what we want to focus on in this article. If you want to know how to be healthy and fit on a budget, the second thing you MUST do is eat raw meat.

I’m currently in Japan and my evening meal consists of 360 grams of raw pork.

Yes yes I know, raw pork OMG I’m going to die. But so far I haven’t died and in fact actually feel pretty amazing. I prefer beef, but that’s harder to find here.

Anyway, it ends up costing me just under $6. So we’re talking roughly $9 a pound of raw meat.

Kind of expensive compared to other countries, but paying an extra few bucks per day to eat the type of food that is VASTLY better for me than virtually anything else I can eat is so so so worth it.

That said, if you want to teach your body how to be healthy and fit with minimal effort and cost, then you can eat other animal products as well.

Eggs, milk, even some cheeses as long as they’re raw (no shredded cheese that’s processed to death and comes in a plastic bag) are also good.

In my experience, raw meat is not only the cheapest, but also is the smoothest on my stomach.

Milk, cheese and eggs can sometimes give me a bit of heartburn or stomach issues. Raw eggs are okay, but drinking a glass of raw eggs is not very satisfying.

Long story short, stick to the raw meat.

Yes… I said it. Drinking your own urine is healthy.

“BUT BUT BUT – what about the scientific evidence! There isn’t anyyy REEEEEEEEEEEE!”

I already went over this in another article, but the scientific evidence surrounding urine therapy is somewhat limited and/or negative because:

  • There’s no money in it
  • Pharmaceutical companies will actually LOSE money if it’s proven effective
  • It can’t be double-blind tested

But again, as I’ve said a million billion times, TRY IT and see if you feel better while doing it.

There are TONS of anecdotal experiences circulating on the internet of people who have healed anything from cancer to skin issues to stomach disturbances with urine therapy.

And if all we’re interested in is results, then really who cares how it works?

Let’s even SAY at it’s 100% placebo.

(I don’t believe that, but let’s just say that it is.)

And let’s say that IT WORKS. Who cares if it’s placebo?

Would you really rather walk around with that nasty skin infection all the time instead of getting rid of it? Are you worried people are going to laugh at you for succumbing to the placebo effect?

If you’ve solved your problem and gotten the result you want – who cares?

But the real magic of urine therapy is that you can finally learn how to get healthy fast while drinking it.

I probably shouldn’t say this, but I have at least one sip of urine per day – normally when I wake up in the morning. I also wipe a little on my face and I swear it helps tighten my skin and wake me up.

You’d think that rubbing urine in your eyes would burn or something, but it’s literally just like putting water on your face. Surprisingly gentle.

Again, I don’t want to gross you guys out too much. But I know that SOME of you reading this are willing to forgo your suckerprone-ness and give it a shot.

Your illnesses are just that painful.

I question why I even need to talk about this.

It’s 2019 people – do we still need to talk about why you need to exercise?

Hopefully, most of you haven’t bought the hype of that “Healthy At Every Size” nonsense that some people shockingly believe.

Logically, you know that you SHOULD be exercising. You just haven’t started yet.

Now look, I don’t want to make you feel bad about not doing it. I’ve written other articles that accomplish that.

I’m not saying that being healthy isn’t for everyone. Of course it is.

And I’d be lying if I said that I didn’t also have areas of my life that I KNEW I needed to get in order, even KNEW what I needed to do to make that happen, but just haven’t started on it yet.

And you know what? It kills me every day that I haven’t.

I literally think about it every day.

I have my own version of this problem – except mine isn’t how to be healthy, it’s something else entirely.

We’ll talk about that in another article, but the point is that we all have that ONE area of our life that just isn’t where we want it to be.

We think about it all day, every day, living in a constant state of mild misery from our lack of action on the subject.

But if you live in any country that has cheap gyms, what excuse do you really have?

In America, Planet Fitness is $10/month. Everyone can afford that.

Other countries (except Japan apparently) all have their own versions of Planet Fitness too, or are at least have a low enough cost of living that a gym membership won’t break the bank.

And if you’re TOTALLY broke, I’m talking like you don’t have a single dollar to your name, living on the street and eating out of the garbage… what’s stopping you from doing some pushups and going for a run?

Literally nothing.

Again, it’s easy for me to say this stuff because I do these things.

But as I give this advice, I’m unintentionally thinking of how I can map over this mentality to that area of my life that I need to work on. So what’s my excuse?

How to be healthy in a nutshell

Look, at the end of the day, you can search on Google about how to be healthy all you want – but you already know what you need to do. It’s pretty gosh darn simple.

  • Eat once a day or once every two days
  • Eat raw meat
  • Drink your own urine
  • Work out

Out of all of those, I would say that you could probably skip the drinking your own urine part. That’s really just a bonus as I really do believe it does help.

The other three are somewhat non-negotiable though if you want to get to a level of optimal health. And by optimal, I mean turning heads when you walk down the street.

Optimal means you’re so ripped that you’re actually embarrassed to take off your shirt in front of other people because you’re self-conscious of making them feel insecure about their own weight.

That’s how you’ll know you’ve made it. And if you want to land a killing blow to the ultimate question of how to be healthy, then you need to do the things I outlined here. Non negotiable.
